Class Action Chapter Leader Recruitment at Penn

Class Action, a national student group building a movement to transform our universities into engines for social good, is recruiting chapter leaders at Penn. Our organizing has been covered by The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, The New York Times, and other major outlets.
Elite universities like Penn operate in an implied contract with the public. They receive tax breaks and grants in exchange for a commitment to the public good. But now, this academic social contract is broken. Penn admits disproportionately wealthy students and funnels them into the lucrative careers of finance, big tech, and consulting—often at a detriment to students, the local community, workers, and society at large.

We believe our universities should contribute to society and prepare us to lead meaningful lives rather than channel us into a narrow set of unfulfilling careers. That’s why Class Action is launching a national campaign to rewrite this contract while building campus-level change through our chapters.
We’re looking for students who are ready to take action. If you believe our school can and should do better to serve its students, staff, faculty, and community, we need you to lead this work. We’re recruiting chapter leads to build Class Action at Penn. As a leader, you’ll help shape our campaign, recruit other students, and drive real change on campus. No prior organizing experience is necessary.

Apply here by April 19th

This is an opportunity to join a growing national movement for a more just and meaningful university experience. Let’s build something better.
Questions? Reach out to Maggie Fleischer, Chapter Lead, at mfleisch@nursing.upenn.edu.
