Penn Forward: Share Your Ideas

Penn Forward is helping us meet the opportunities and challenges of a rapidly changing landscape in higher education. As recently announced, we have begun the planning phase. Six working groups have been charged with developing and testing ideas, and their work is already underway.

But Penn is a large and diverse community. Students, post-doctoral scholars, faculty, staff, alumni and volunteer leaders all bring perspectives and insights that can make Penn stronger. We hope you will share yours.

Imagine it is 2035, and a new student, faculty member, or staff member has just arrived at Penn. What do we want to be true for them that is not true today? How will they experience learning and discovery, belonging, and purpose? How will they carry forward their Penn experience in careers, creativity, and the richness of intellectual growth? Or imagine a Penn alum, 5-50 years past graduation who knows Penn still offers them something of value. What would that be and how could we deliver it?

We welcome bold ideas, whether large or small, that can help shape Penn’s future. Click here to share your ideas. today. Your input will be directed to the Penn Forward working groups as they develop recommendations for the University’s future and help us propel Penn Forward. Please submit your ideas by October 6, 2025.

Research Peer Advisor Matching Form Open to First- and Second-Years and Junior Transfers

Thinking about research but feeling intimidated? Unsure where to start? Confused about how to find a faculty mentor? Wondering how to balance research with coursework? Curious about research funding?

The Research Peer Advisors are here to help! This program matches first- and second-year undergraduates and junior transfer students with a CURF Research Peer Advisor (RPA), who can discuss any research-related issues on their mind. Even if you are not ready to begin research this semester or this year, an RPA can help you explore your interests and learn about future opportunities.

Sign up to be matched by 11:59 pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

Short Survey on AI & International Student Services

Penn undergraduate international students (18+) are invited to participate in a brief survey about your use of and views on AI chatbots, both in everyday life and in your college experience. Your input will help identify essential services to better support international students in U.S. higher education. Participation is voluntary, and all responses will be confidential and de-identified.

Survey (5–7 minutes): to capture broad trends and needs across students.
Interview (30–45 minutes via Zoom): to add deeper, real-world context so we can translate findings into practical improvements for international student support.

For questions, please contact Lily Zhang, doctoral student at Penn Graduate School of Education, at lizhang1@upenn.edu.
