OAS Academic Advising
Academic planning covers a wide range of topics, including choosing a major, registering for classes, and defining career goals. While the ultimate decision rests with you, the student, the Penn Engineering undergraduate advising system is designed to support and guide you while making these important choices. During the Fall and Spring semesters, in-person walk-in advising takes place Monday – Thursday from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at 109 Towne Building. Events (Engineering)
Workshop: Pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in science and engineering
Are you interested in pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in science and engineering? If yes, the Pathway to PhD Program (PPP) may be for you. This workshop will walk you through applying to graduate-level PhD programs in the United States. It will provide information about funding opportunities and help you develop your application materials.
The intensive workshop will be held online on

ESAC
The Engineering Student Activities Council (ESAC) is a student organization at the University of Pennsylvania that serves as the umbrella for all student groups within SEAS at Penn. ESAC coordinates the activities of the various undergraduate organizations and acts as a liaison among undergraduate engineering students, SEAS faculty, and administration. The application to join ESAC will open again in the Fall 2024. Reach out to pennesac@gmail.com for questions.
Engineering Dean’s Advisory Board
The Engineering Deans’ Advisory Board at the University of Pennsylvania works directly with deans and faculty from Penn Engineering to implement initiatives that enrich the learning and welfare of Engineers. Want to learn more about Engineering Dean’s Advisory Board, check it out here.
Penn Engineering Council
The Penn Engineering Council (PEC) is the pre-professional branch of the Engineering student government quad-board at the University of Pennsylvania. PEC’s role is to organize events in the domains of academic mentorship and professional development and to serve as a funding organization to its constituent clubs and pre-professional societies within the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Student Performing Arts Night (SPAN)
SPAN brings together 50+ student performing arts groups and hundreds of new Penn performing artists for a whirlwind collage of short, get-to-know-you performances. Organized and produced by the PAC Executive Board with support from Platt Student Performing Arts House and the PAC Shop, this night of entertainment invites all students, but especially first-year and transfer students, to get a taste for the wide variety of performing clubs at Penn before entering audition season each fall.

Engineering Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship Fellows Program – Only 12 Students Get This Opportunity!
- Penn Engineering will welcome its 2025 cohort to the Entrepreneurship Fellows Program, which offers an immersive tech startup experience like no other!
- Duration: January to December.
- Coursework: Spring and fall semesters with just 12 students. Earn 2 credits towards the Entrepreneurship minor/certificate.
- Paid Summer Internship: At tech startups in the northeast. Work directly with tech founders on strategic initiatives. Visit your cohort and learn from their experiences as well.
- Mentorship: Gain invaluable insights from venture capitalists and startup alumni.
- Eligibility: Juniors, Accel-Masters Seniors, First-Year Masters students
